Contrast Therapy, Redesigned
At Perspire, we’re constantly evolving what wellness looks like—and feels like. Our newest innovation, SNØ, offers a modern and elevated approach to contrast therapy, designed to both enhance your infrared sauna experience and support your long-term health goals. Designed with intention and backed by science, SNØ is more than just a cold shower—it’s the final step in your full-spectrum wellness ritual.

What are SNØ Showers?
Inspired by the Nordic tradition of snøbading (snow bathing), the SNØ Shower is a refreshing 45° F rainfall shower powered by Silient™ cold-water chiller technology. From the privacy of your suite, you can step into the cold rainfall stream for up to 45 seconds—and feel immediately refreshed.
When paired with Perspire’s infrared sauna heat, the cold plunge-inspired experience provides guests with a full-body reset known to reduce inflammation, accelerate muscle recovery and elevate mood. The entire contrast therapy modality has been expertly crafted for optimal results.
What Sets SNØ Showers Apart
Innovative and private, our en-suite contrast therapy experience is designed with our members in mind. With an emphasis on safety and customization, the rainfall shower allows you to self-position under the flow or step away from the stimulus as needed. Plus, it’s integrated seamlessly into the sauna experience—located within the private suite and requires no additional booking time or staff oversight, ensuring a simple and elevated visit. SNØ delivers a consistent, science-backed, refreshing cold shower year-round, setting a new standard for in-studio contrast therapy.

The Science and Benefits of Contrast Therapy
Together, heat and cold offer a synergistic wellness solution rooted in centuries of tradition, refined with modern science. The primary mechanism is vascular adaptation: heat causes vasodilation (widening of blood vessels), while cold leads to vasoconstriction (narrowing of vessels). This dynamic shift in blood flow supports circulation, reduces inflammation, aids in physical recovery, and can elevate energy levels through neurotransmitter release.
Studies show that contrast therapy can (1, 2, 3):
- Accelerate some aspects of recovery between workouts
- Reduce muscle soreness
- Improve performance readiness for upcoming workouts or competitions
- Regulate the autonomic nervous system
- Promote relaxation and reduce stress
- Support overall well-being
When practiced consistently, contrast therapy delivers a full-body reset that’s both energizing and restorative.
The SNØ Shower Protocol at Perspire
SNØ Showers are an easy addition to your sauna visit. In the app, select a shower suite (🚿) and continue to booking. Before you can confirm or complete a booking, a pop-up with “Contrast Therapy Add-On” appears for you to add to your session.

If your session is scheduled for morning or mid-day, you should start with infrared sauna + red light therapy and end with a 45-second SNØ Shower. If you’ll be visiting in the evening, we recommend the same protocol, unless it’s within 4 hours of your scheduled bedtime (in which case, consider postponing SNØ, as it may impact sleep patterns).
To get SNØ started, simply press the button in the shower and step into the refreshing cold rainfall. The cold water can sometimes be shocking, box breathing can help you stay calm and lean into the experience. To try it, first inhale deeply for 4 seconds. Hold it for 4 seconds, then exhale for 4 seconds. Pause for 4 more seconds and repeat the process if necessary.

If 45 seconds feels like too long, it’s okay to step out of the stream of water. You can always work your way up to the full duration over time.
We encourage our members to add SNØ to their session at least once a week to maximize the benefits. If you have circulatory or blood pressure concerns, please consult your doctor before adding SNØ to your routine.
